We are living in an era of unprecedented change. Change brought on primarily by the advances of the technological age. Nowhere is this more evident than in the domain of business. This is where the problem of complexity can outpace the ability of the businesses to keep up. With the improved collection methods, companies have gained more information sources to harness. There is more data that needs to be integrated and more people clamoring for different types of information.

There is a lot of scope for increased and better managed data feeding which is not being taken seriously by the people who run IT. Extra resources are hired to facilitate data flow, although much more can be done by lesser people strength and smarter management. The vicious circle of under management grows every day. IT automation is not just another fancy word for the distant future. Automation itself sounds frightening to human existence! The need of the hour is to reassess the present working system. Any organization planning to go for automation needs to clearly lay down the rules and definition for its each and every department. It will be similar to the present goal setting done for each employee at the beginning of every year. Examples cannot be copied but can be the basis of urgent brainstorming session of the employers. It is just like William Gibson says, The future is here. Its just not widely distributed yet.
